What's New for the 2018 Acura MDX?

The 2018 Acura MDX is Acura's newest vehicle to hit the open market and their newest MDX model for the year. The new MDX is a crossover SUV with three rows of seats in it, and comes with some new features that provide substantial benefits as compared with the previous model. For instance, a new dual-screen infotainment system has been included and runs much faster than the previous model.

Trims & Features

The 2018 MDX has a variety of different trim levels with their own set of special features with them. The MDX comes in three different trim levels: Standard, Technology and Advance. The Standard trim is exactly what it says it is, keeping the standard features on it such as 18-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights, keyless entry and ignition and a nice sunroof. The Technology trim level has features including an upgraded 20-inch wheel set, automatic windshield wipers, a blind-spot monitoring system and a premium audio system with HD radio and ten speakers to match. The Advance trim package contains even more features like better LED fog lights, parking sensors on the front and rear of the car, a heated steering wheel, premium leather for the front seats and even an extra 2 USB ports for iPhone access.

The 2018 Acura MDX is equipped with an engine that is sturdy and enduring enough to sustain the vehicle that it is built in. The engine can handle the workload on the MDX, being able to produce a pretty impressive 290 horsepower rating at up to 6,200 wheel rotations per minute, and 267 feet per pounds of torque in addition to that. The engine also contains V6 cylinders that run on an all wheel drive train and a 9-speed shiftable automatic transmission. In terms of powering and fuel, the car runs on premium unleaded gasoline and has a combined EPA of 21 miles per gallon*, getting 18 MPG* riding through the city and 27 MPG* when riding on the highway.


2018 Acura MDX Safety FeaturesThe Acura MDX is also fitted with several safety features and precautions to guarantee that riders and drivers alike will be comfortable and safe in their ride. As an SUV that can seat up to 7 people, the MDX is made with passenger safety in mind, and younger passenger are taken care of with the inclusion of the standard child seat anchors and rear door safety locks. In addition, this vehicle includes a pre-collision and post-collision safety system in the event of a car accident and the driver needs an update on the status and damage of the vehicle. An emergency braking assist system is available in the event of failing brakes and may even prevent said accidents from occurring. Turn signal mirrors are included, as well as rear seat adjustable headrests and headlights that are able to sense dusk and adjust to them accordingly.
