What's New For the 2022 Acura MDX?

The Acura MDX is all-new for the 2022 model year. It features a striking exterior with a wider stance, extended wheelbase, lower profile, and a Diamond Pentagon grille flanked by all-new LED headlights. This class-defining three-seat crossover receives a redo in the cabin, with a more elevated premium environment and technology. For the sports-oriented driver, Acura offers a performance-driven model, the Type S, with an exclusive engine. This model is expected to be released in the summer of 2021.

What Features Are on the Acura MDX?

Four MDX packages are available in addition to the base MDX, including Technology, A-Spec, and Advance. Drivers will experience an all-digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system featuring a full-HD, 12.3-inch center display with wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, Alexa, and AcuraWatch. You will be treated to an array of other standard features, such as heated front seats, a panoramic moonroof, wireless charging, voice recognition, Siri Eyes Free, and a 9-speaker premium audio system. On the Technology package, you get a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system, navigation with a 3D view, AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic reporting, sport seats with perforated soft-touch Milano premium leather interior, and 27-color ambient LED cabin lighting.

The A-Spec package includes a 16-speaker ELS 3D premium sound system, CabinTalk, an easier way to communicate with second and third-row passengers, a sporty leather-wrapped flat-bottom sport steering wheel, contrast upholstery stitching, and piping, and metal footrest and pedals. The Advance package adds more premium and luxury items, including 16-way power seats with power lumbar support, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power liftgate with hands-free access and walk away close.

The Type S comes with a flat-bottom sport steering wheel, a 25-speaker Signature Edition ELS Studio 3D premium audio system, and quilted leather seating.

Powertrain Choices on the 2022 Acura MDX

Consider the engine of the 2022 Acura MDX, the most exciting part of this vehicle. The standard engine equipped on the 2022 MDX is a 3.5-liter V6 engine with front-wheel drive. The Type S variant will get its power from a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6. Its estimated output is 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) configuration comes standard with the Type S and is available with the other powertrain. A smooth-shifting 10-speed transmission is connected to these engines.

Enhanced Safety & Driver-Assistance Features

Enjoy some advanced safety features with the Acura MDX.
