Upcoming Acura Electric Vehicles

The news concerning upcoming Acura electric vehicles includes the first electric SUV from the carmaker. This vehicle doesn't yet have a name officially, but some people are anticipating that it might be called ADX.

New Acura Electric Vehicle

The reason why people think that the new electric SUV coming out for Acura in a few years might be called ADX is due to the fact that Acura's parent company, Honda, filed a trademark for the name. They did this with the Patent office in the US. The name could be for a different vehicle, of course, and Honda could also be a filing for a different purpose.

However, many people online believe that ADX will be the 2024 vehicle that is going to use the Ultium battery. Although the new Acura vehicle is sharing some technology with the Honda Prologue and other GM-built EV options, it's likely that Acura will still have a highly distinctive look and feel.

The rumors are that Acura will officially name the vehicle within a year or so. In fact, the CEO of Honda has said that they will reveal the name of the SUV in early 2022, so it could be at any time now. Acura is focusing on electric vehicles in order to try to grow as a company. In fact, instead of trying a transition strategy like many other companies, So, instead of going from ICE engines to hybrid and then to electric vehicles, Acura is planning on making electric vehicles immediately. Acura is focusing on its new EV enough that they are hoping to sell about 30,000 units every year when it comes out.

The only thing we know for sure about the upcoming first Acura electric car is that it will use the EV platform from GM with the Ultium batteries. The range should be around 300 miles, with the dual-motor option providing all-wheel drive.
