Beyond its status as a premier manufacturer of luxury passenger vehicles, Acura commands a formidable presence in professional motorsports. The brand's ongoing alliance with the Acura Meyer Shank Racing team highlights a shared commitment to high-performance engineering. The accomplished Acura MSR collective consistently fields competitive entries in premier endurance racing series. Here is a review of the team's notable performance at a historic American motorsport landmark.
Acura MSR Performance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Boasting a spectator capacity exceeding 250,000, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway represents an iconic cathedral of American racing. The legendary facility welcomed competitors for the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks event on September 20, 2026. Veteran competitor Tom Blomqvist navigated the rigorous competition to claim a fifth-place finish. Since joining the MSR squad in 2022, Blomqvist has leveraged extensive experience on premier global racing platforms, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Blomqvist exhibited exceptional precision behind the wheel of the number 60 Acura MSR prototype. The ARX-06 featured a distinctive black chassis accented by vibrant green-and-orange graphics. Mechanically, the vehicle harnesses a sophisticated twin-turbocharged engine coupled with a rear electric motor. Bold white Acura insignias highlighted the roof and hood, while compact Michelin branding underscored the machine's utilization of high-performance Michelin tires and lightweight forged wheels. Starting from pole position, Blomqvist commanded the early laps of the race. A strategic pit stop and driver change altered the running order as rivals employed short-fueling tactics, ultimately placing co-driver Colin Braun in fourth position. Despite facing hurdles in the long run against the competition, the squad maintained composure to secure a strong top-five finish.
