To access all the features available through your Android phone with your eligible Acura model, you'll need to complete several steps for Android Auto integration. Currently, the feature is available on the Acura TLX, ILX, NSX, and MDX. Soon, it will also be available on the RDX. With Acura's innovative system, you can enjoy the advantages of using Google Assistant to access maps, music, phone calls, and more.

Setting Up Android Auto in Your Acura

Syncing your Android smartphone with Android Auto is simple. You don't need to learn any new apps, and you don't need Bluetooth to complete the connection. Before you pair your phone with your Acura package, you will need to make sure that your phone is up-to-date with all of its software. If you haven't updated your phone recently, check for updates by going to "Settings," then selecting "About Phone" and "Check now for update." Follow the directions for downloading and installing any software that is available.

Acura RDX Android Auto Integration

After checking for updates on your phone and installing them if available, you will need to download the Android Auto app on your phone if you don't have it yet. This app is available through the GooglePlay Store. The app should be open while you complete the download. As part of the setup process, the app will prompt you to "Grant permissions." A series of questions follows for features you want the app to access, such as phone calls, locations, SMS text messages, and your location. You can choose to receive notifications through the app as well.

To pair your phone with the Advance Package, plug your phone into your Acura's USB port, which is housed in the front center console. The car will ask you to "Enable Once," which ensures your phone connects each time you drive.

By downloading the Android Auto app, you can access all of your convenient driving apps like Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Waze. Just remember that you will need to make sure that you have the correct software and that your phone's software is up-to-date for the apps to work properly.
