Performance
The new 2022 Acura RDX is available in two trim levels: Base and Advance. Both trims come standard with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 272 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft of torque. The Base trim comes with a front-wheel drivetrain, while the Advance trim comes with Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. The EPA estimates that the Base trim will get 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway when it comes to fuel economy. With its SH-AWD system, the Advance trim is slightly less efficient, with an estimated 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Both trims come standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Both trims can tow up to 1,500 pounds when it comes to towing capacity.
Appearance
When comparing the exterior features of the 2022 Acura RDX Base vs. Advance Trim, there are more similarities than differences. Both trims come standard with Jewel Eye LED Headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels. The Advance trim does offer an upgraded sound system and a hands-free tailgate, but these features are not available on the Base trim. In addition, the Base trim is slightly longer and broader than the Advance trim in terms of size. However, both trims have a similar wheelbase and height. As a result, the two trims offer equivalent comfort and convenience. Ultimately, the choice between the two trims comes down to personal preference.
Features
The Base trim comes with standard leatherette upholstery, while the Advance trim comes with standard perforated leather upholstery. Other standard interior features on the Advance trim and optional on the base trim include a 12-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a 10-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, and driver's seat memory settings. Also included are heated front seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an ambient lighting system, and a head-up display. In addition, both trims come with standard forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition in terms of safety features. However, the Advance trim also has traditional blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
